The Sonic Catering Band is an English artists collective creating a fully functioning kitchen in the gallery and connecting its ustensils to microphones, in order to cook a choreographed meal that is first heard by the public, then served to the public.For the Forde project, Japanese cooking has been chosen. The «concert» will be recorded and a special edition of 7 vinyles of «Frostbite» will be published. Moreover, the Vespetro café, 4, place des Volontaires in Geneva will host the Sonic Catering Band on Friday November 9, afternoon and evening.

Organized in cooperation with Galerie Marlene Frei in Zurich, the exhibition proposes some objets and multiples created by John Cage in 1969 under the title «Not wanting to say anything about Marcel», (Duchamp, of course) and fully inspired by the book of «I King». The exhibition also gathers some works by contemporary artists inspired by Cage’s music.

Finnish artist Heikki Jutunen works with the rings and logos of mobile phones, which he takes for «evolving ready-made» . He makes use of the mobile phone as of a minimal TV, using the rings as soundtracks for minimal animations. One of his scores will be executed during the concert of Nov. 4, using the spectators’ mobile phones sounds.

«Without» is an installation in the city (video, sounds and objects); it is a parasite using existing means of screening images and of diffusion of sounds, concentrating on busy locations such as train stations. The new images and sounds are slow, they work like a pause in the hectic flow of information of today’s urban landscapes.

Five painters lend their pictures to the audiovisual interpretation of Emile Ellberger, who will make a special video installation that functions like a new context for the paintings.

Sontext was formed in 1999 by Deborah Warner and Steve Hamilton, a collaboration dedicated to exploring the medium of sound as a physical entity. «Warped» is a synthetised large-scale acoustic and visual space, based on the «Rocky Horro Picture Show» song, remixed and accompanied by a b/w projection of a dance performance.

This is a new dream from the series created by Imanol Atorrasagasti and Yan Duyvendak since 1997. The artists propose a new vision inspired by dreams with a complex installation mixing screenigns, still pictures and viewing machines hanging from the ceiling, with a specific soundtrack.
