Peter Aerschmann takes the urban landscape and the movements and repetitions of daily life as the starting point and setting of his installations.

Peter Aerschmann , Stop, 2004

In his interactive installation «Stop» (2004) presented at the Center for Contemporary Images, people filmed individually in various cities are shown side by side in a bare environment as if they were waiting or expecting something. They slip through the space like pawns in a game of chess, creating random new visual constellations that never yield any sort of interaction between the protagonists.
